Started sewing again

After taking a few weeks off of sewing, I have completed a few more projects. I made two grocery bags. They're the same pattern, but with different colors.

It was Linda's birthday on Thursday, so I made her a necklace and earrings.

I went to a quilt show today, and found this beautiful panel for just $4!

Just a little

Here are some earrings I've made at Ornamentea over the past few weeks. They were a birthday present for Cat!

I also made a little ghost wall hanging for Halloween!

Cat got one for her birthday too!

Sewing with the Ladies!

The ladies came over tonight and Nicole showed us how to put a pocket on a bag. Here is now they turned out...

Then Linda, who is so talented, show us how to do this star...

Last, this is a little blanket I made for one of my pregnant students. She's having a boy!

2 Quilts and a Dress!

I have finally finished my two quilts and a dress I've been working on for a while! This one is the quilting challenge for my quilting group. If you look at the second picture, you can see I sewed buttons in the middle of each square.
This is the back. You can see my quilting and I put a tie in the middle of each square on the back.

I made Julio a small t-shirt quilt from different races he has done. This is the inspiration I had from a Jo Ann's advertisement.

Finally, here is the dress I made.

Sew the Day Away!

I spent the day sewing with friends from my quilting group. Here is what I worked on today. Here's Julio's T-shirt quilt. I still have to do a yellow border around it.
Here is my black and white quilt. I am putting buttons in the middle of each square, the I just have to do the binding!

Many Great Things About Raleigh!

I have been very busy and finally am able to put it all on the blog! Now you get a lot of pictures!

These are the Ornamentea projects for the last two weeks!

I pieced together my black, white and red quilt! Now I just have to quilt it!

We went camping a few weeks ago with Linda and Larry. Linda showed me how to do embroidery with silk ribbon. It's not finished, but you get the idea!

You can see we were working hard...

and the boys are fishing...

I love the flowers in North Carolina! These are some we have by our front door! They were a gift from a very sweet, recent house guest!

This is Julio's blackberry bush! We each have eaten one berry so far, but it's still very exciting! Something we never did in Florida!

The newest challenge

My quilting group is doing a new quilting challenge. The rules are it has to be bigger than 12X12 and black, white and one other color. I decided to do a strip quilt. I'm not finished, but this is how far I've gotten.

Also, this is the weekly project at Ornamentea.

Trying something new

Jo-Ann Fabrics was having a sale on their McCall patterns. They were only 99 cents! So... I decided to try to make a skirt, it's the first time I've made clothes. I think it turned out pretty good!

Quilting Challenge

For this quilting challenge from my quilting group we are to make a 12X12 wall hanging using hand quilting. It also must have a basket and flowers. I started with this first one here, but was disappointed with the contrast between the pinks and the browns.

Thus, I began a new one. I finished quilting this one today at our "Sew the Day Away" gathering. I also did trapunto quilting for the first time, but only on the butterfly and basket.

New Stuff!

These are some earrings I made at Panopolie today.

This is a bag I made last week. It was the first time I sewed a zipper, it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be.

The Beach

Julio and I went to the beach yesterday. The weather was great, but cold! You can see that I'm enjoying the sun!

We had a little company!

While sitting on the beach I did some hand quilting. I'm sure that I looked like a grandmother...

On a side note, here is another picture of our tulips.
